The Transformation of a Cyprus Villa: A Sun-Drenched Interior for a Large Family

Brief

50.000 €
1 year
We were approached by a client with a villa in the picturesque region of Paphos. The renovation was fairly recent, but the developer-supplied furnishings felt too drab and generic. The client wanted to "bring the space to life."

Repainting the walls could have been an option, but given the large square footage, we decided to leave the walls as they were and instead work with textiles, rugs, décor, and art.

BEFORE
Softness and warmth were added to the space with a striking New Zealand wool rug in a creamy milk tone. Its pattern echoes the design of the sheers but on a larger scale, which accentuates the spaciousness of the living room.
The client's top priority was not to obstruct the view from the windows, so we spent considerable time searching for sheer curtains with the right level of transparency. Some options matched the pattern we wanted but consumed a significant portion of the budget. To optimize costs, we opted for yellow curtains with decorative embroidery — they don't close completely, yet serve as a bold accent that refreshes the interior. We complemented them with Roman blinds featuring a contrasting trim and decorative throw pillows.
